Field Piping Engineer / Coordinator

Field Piping Engineer / Coordinator Fort Saskatchewan, AB Contract Are you Piping Engineer with recent petrochemical facilities experience and great leadership skills?

Our client is looking to fill a Field Piping Coordinator role with one of their Alberta based facilities and they may be waiting on you to apply.

Field Piping Engineer / Coordinator Qualifications
•Must be proficient in AutoCAD and SmartPlant 3D
•Previous experience with piping glasses with high cleaning class requirements, pneumatic conveying and complex and accurate installation requirements
•Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with
•Ten (10) plus years’ experience operating in a technical environment and construction planning on large industrial projects
•Previous experience with contract management, change management and execution
•Excellent leadership skills
•Knowledgeable in construction methods, practices, quality assurance and field engineering
•Hands-on field experience in operations and reliability / maintenance engineering, inspections and workshop repairs and turnarounds will be considered an asset Field Piping Engineer / Coordinator duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
•Development of CWP’s and contractor scope of work to ensure completion of job
•Coordination of job necessities and requirements with various departments and teams
•Support various contractors in need of clarification, interpretation, interference resolution and Quality Assurance and Quality Control related matters
•Ensure that any scope of work changes are distributed in an efficient and timely manner
•Be proficient in the understanding of specific project design drawings, specifications and contracts
•Ensure that project construction adheres to the drawings, specifications and construction practices
•Provide support to maintenance of as-builts and quality assurance binders
•Provide assistance to the project teams with the estimation and review for contract additions and monitor daily cost submissions by Contractors
•Monitoring of Contractor look-ahead schedules and report any deviances and activities not being followed / met to the Construction Manager
•Monitoring of Contractor approved Quality Control Programs; complete inspections required up to the equipment tagging procedure: the civil works, concrete pours, steel erection, equipment installations, piping, testing, HVAC, electrical and instrumentation check-out and testing and assist with the pre-commissioning program
•Submission of daily progress reports outlining any concerns for items such as safety observations/directions, non-compliance with the specifications and/or drawings, weather and equipment delays, clean-up of sites, infrastructure, congestion, workmanship, quality control and any potential contract changes or extras
•Updating of site-wide deficiency check-lists and issuing of such at weekly construction meetings.

•Assist with Site Safety Program management
•Pre-emptive work with contractors to ensure project safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives are being achieved
